FKS Faculty Member Discusses Social Activism Communication Strategies on Radio Elshinta FM
BANDUNG, April 22, 2026 – The School of Communication and Social Sciences (SCS) at Telkom University continues to demonstrate its active contribution to public knowledge dissemination. Dr. Muhammad Sufyan Abdurrahman, S.Sos., M.M., appeared as a guest speaker on the radio program “Dissemination of Social Activism Communication,” broadcasted via Radio Elshinta FM 89.3 Bandung on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
The broadcast focused on how communication strategies can serve as a catalyst for social change, particularly in encouraging active public participation in philanthropic and humanitarian activities.
Leveraging the Potential of the “Most Giving Country”
During his presentation, Dr. Muhammad Sufyan highlighted Indonesia’s status as one of the most generous countries in the world. However, he emphasized that this generosity needs to be managed through a systematic communication approach.
“Persuasive communication competence allows us to invite the public to give. In principle, Indonesians are the most giving country in the world. However, this blessing does not happen by chance; it requires end-to-end communication planning to attract public interest,” he explained during the live broadcast.

The discussion also delved into why social activists should not rely solely on good intentions, but also on proper persuasive techniques. Comprehensive planning from defining key messages to selecting distribution channels is the key to ensuring social activism messages are well-received by the right audience in today’s digital era.
