ICT IKOM TELKOM: Fostering Skills in Communication and Technology

ICT IKOM TELKOM is a student club under the Communication Studies program at Telkom University, focusing on developing practical skills in editing, graphic design, web development and video editing. The club regularly holds weekly mentoring sessions where members collaborate, share, and enhance their skills using editing software. One of the key benefits for students involved in ICT IKOM is the opportunity to learn earlier than their peers, with a hands-on approach that involves both classmates and seniors. This informal learning environment creates a supportive, non-lecture atmosphere for skill development. Established in 2012, ICT IKOM has grown significantly, and by 2019, the club organized visits to notable companies like Gojek, Kaskus and Studio Netmediatama. These field trips provide members with real-world exposure, allowing them to observe how technology and media industries operate, thus helping them better prepare for their future careers.

Key Programs:

  • ICT Anniversary: Celebrates the club’s founding on November 10 each year.
  • Makrab (Intimacy Night): Strengthens relationships between new and existing members through social events.
  • ICT Handmade: A platform for showcasing members’ work, both within the club and to external audiences. It also includes practical services like software reinstallation.
  • ICT Farewell: A farewell ceremony for graduating members and a leadership transition event for selecting the new chairman and vice-chairman. ICT IKOM continues to foster innovation and collaboration among students, equipping them with industry-relevant skills and experiences that go beyond the classroom.
