Telkom University Holds Science & Technology Exhibition: AR-Based BERAKSI Board Game as an Initiative for Early Childhood Protection Education

Bandung, December 3, 2025 — Telkom University successfully held the Science and Technology Literacy Exhibition featuring the theme BERAKSI Board Game (Berani Atasi Kekerasan Seksual Sejak Dini / Brave to Overcome Sexual Violence from an Early Age) Based on Augmented Reality. The event took place on December 1, 2025, at Manterawu Building, 1st Floor, showcasing an innovative learning media that integrates board games, Augmented Reality (AR) technology, and scientific literacy into an engaging educational experience.

The exhibition was part of the 2025 Semesta Insaintek Grant Program, serving as a meeting point between campus innovation, community education, and efforts to build accessible technological literacy for all groups. By promoting technology that feels close and easy to understand, this event reinforced the message that campus innovations can directly contribute to addressing relevant social issues.

The BERAKSI Board Game was designed as an educational tool that helps children and teenagers understand various forms of sexual violence, recognize healthy physical boundaries, and learn safe responses when facing risky situations. With the support of AR technology, the learning experience becomes more immersive, enjoyable, and age-appropriate.

“Through this exhibition, we want to ensure that the research developed on campus can truly reach and benefit the daily lives of the community. Technology should be accessible, easy to understand, and provide real impact,” said Alila Pramiyanti, Ph.D., Head of the Semesta Insaintek Grant Program.

The event was attended by around 250 participants, including elementary, middle, and high school students, university students, community groups, and the general public. Visitors came from various surrounding areas, such as PKK Bojong, PKK Baros, SMAN 1 Dayeuhkolot, SMP Garuda, SDN Lengkong, MTs–MA Al Mukhlisin, SDN Cipagalo 1–3, and SDN Sukabirus. Participants were invited to try the board game, watch demonstrations, and explore simple technologies illustrating how science can be presented in a friendly and approachable way for all ages.

  • AI Laboratory
  • Mobile Innovation Laboratory
  • CoE HUMIC Engineering
  • Metaverse Research & Experience Center
  • Center of Excellence IPTEKS PT Sensing IoT
  • DIGIN – Smart IoT & Ergonomic Innovation

Their presence not only enriched the exhibition but also demonstrated the university’s strong potential in producing technologies that address societal needs.

The Director of Research and Community Service (PPM) at Telkom University, Dr. Eng. Faisal Budiman, S.T., M.Sc., emphasized that this exhibition serves as concrete evidence that university research can be applied directly to address social issues, including child protection.

The event was made possible through the collaboration of COE DICTUM x GREAT LAB FKS, along with support from various partners committed to strengthening scientific literacy, technological education, and child safety awareness from an early age.

With the enthusiasm shown by participants, visitors, and the organizing team, this exhibition is expected to be a sustainable initiative in presenting empowering and educational technologies for the wider community.
