Bridging the Digital Industry Gap, Digital PR Program at SCS Telkom University Develops Adaptive Curriculum via RPS Workshop

BANDUNG, January 22, 2026 – In an effort to respond to rapidly evolving industry dynamics, the Digital Public Relations (PR) Study Program at the Faculty of Communication and Social Sciences (SCS), Telkom University, held a Workshop on Developing Semester Lesson Plans (RPS) for the Even Semester of 2025-2026. The event took place over two days, from January 19–20, 2026, in Bandung.

Focusing on Impact-Based Curriculum

The primary objective of this workshop was to minimize the gap between education and digital industry needs through the development of an adaptive curriculum. The Head of the Digital PR Study Program at Telkom University, Dr. Sri Dewi Setiawati, M.Si., emphasized that a well-prepared RPS is a crucial roadmap for lecturers to ensure that student competencies are clearly measurable by the end of the semester.

“The adaptive curriculum developed in this program is designed to be impact-based (impact-based curriculum), ensuring our graduates possess high competitiveness and strong relevance to current professional demands,” stated Dr. Sri Dewi during the opening session.

Integrating Actual Cases and Real Projects

Present as an external speaker, Ujang Rusdianto, provided deep insights into the latest trends in the communication industry. He encouraged lecturers to integrate project-based learning and actual case studies into their RPS. This approach ensures that students do not only master theory but are also capable of solving real-world problems frequently encountered in the professional workplace.

Through this workshop, all lecturers in the Digital PR Program at SCS Telkom University conducted reviews and updates of their teaching materials. This strategic step is expected to result in a learning process that is fresh, innovative, and capable of comprehensively addressing digital transformation challenges.
