BANDUNG, January 14, 2026 – The School of Communication and Social Sciences (SCS) at Telkom University strengthened its synergy with the local government through a strategic discussion and gathering with the Vice Regent of Bandung, Ali Syakieb. The meeting, held on Wednesday (14/01), serves as a pivotal momentum in exploring collaboration between academia and government practitioners.
Exploring Research Subsidies and Policy Dialogue
The activity focused on two primary agendas. First, the exploration of subsidy assistance for International Journal publication fees for SCS academics, aiming to enhance the quality and quantity of research on the global stage. Second, an in-depth dialogue regarding the policies and political perspectives of the Bandung Regency Government to identify collaborative areas relevant to current academic needs and social challenges.
Researching the Celebrity Phenomenon in Politics
During the meeting, Dr. Dedi Kurnia Syah, Head of the Public Relations and Marketing Communication Research Group, specifically explored potential research partnerships regarding the phenomenon of celebrity involvement in Indonesian politics. The research focus will highlight political dynamics in West Java, which is expected to dissect policies from a comprehensive communication and social science perspective.
