
Navigating Business Dynamics: SCS Hosts Guest Lecture on Leadership Strategies for Change and Innovation
BANDUNG, May 08, 2026 — The ever-evolving and challenging industrial landscape demands that future professionals possess resilience in leadership. Addressing this need, the relevant study program at the School of Communication and Social Sciences (SCS) at Telkom University successfully held an Industrial and Organizational Psychology Guest Lecture themed “Leading Through Turbulence: A Leadership Perspective in Managing Business Change and Innovation” Held on 5 may 2026.
This activity was designed to equip students with a deep understanding of how a leader should act and make decisions amidst uncertain situations (turbulence).
Adaptive Leadership as the Primary Key
The guest lecture featured Capt. Virda D. Ekaputra, S.Sos., M.M. as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, he shared various strategic insights regarding the importance of adaptive leadership. According to him, the ability to adapt to changing dynamics is no longer just an option but a necessity to maintain sustainability and drive innovation in the business world.
“Leadership in turbulent situations requires a sharp vision and the ability to embrace change as an opportunity for innovation,” Capt. Virda explained to the students.
Bridging Psychological Theory with Industrial Practice
Through the perspective of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, students were invited to understand human behavior within organizational structures when facing transitions. This discussion provided new insights regarding leadership strategies relevant to current industrial challenges, ranging from conflict management to building a culture of innovation within teams.
